Fifty acres and a log cabin. Just what I’d been hoping to find. Here I am, almost three months into the life and, so far, it’s not far off the mark for what I expected. What wasn’t planned for, however, was running out of water; a week after I arrived the well ran dry. Hauling water by the 300-gallon tank and dumping it into the cistern worked for a while, but with the last refill things slowed to a trickle and came to a halt, so it’s back to 5-gallon jugs, heating water on the stove, and bathing from a basin. One positive note: the outhouse still works!
